The View is aptly named: many of its rooms have stunning views of Mount Kenashi above the village, and the Chikuma Valley below. This spacious, airy property offers very comfortable western and Japanese accommodation, a short stroll from the moving walkway and thence the slopes. Nozawa View Hotel Shimataya is a non-smoking property and has in-house onsens.
Kawamotoya
Kawamotoya is a traditional ryokan located in Nozawa Onsen. A total of 13 public hot-spring bath houses, known as “Sotoyu”, are a common asset of the local villagers who welcome visitors to share them. One of them, “Kumanotearai no yu”, is just next to Kawamotoya and is famous for its effects on the beauty of women’s skin. This ryokan is a non-smoking property.
Kawazen
Kawazen is a villa, renovated in end 2019 and is conveniently located near the Shinyu pairlift in Nozawaonsen village. It’s an easy stroll to everything you need. The nicest public onsen with an outdoor onsen, Furusato no Yu is less than a minute’s walk from the house. Shops and most of the restaurants are less than 5 minutes walk and the slopes only 10 minutes by chairlift.
